Simple accessories to organize gadget wires at home

This article has been a few years coming, it was meant to be a follow-up to my article on the 5 smart gadgets but I just never got to it back then. So after a pause, here’s my list of some simple Amazon-bought dumb accessories to organize gadget wires in a smart / connected home:

  1. Hide yo’ wires
  2. Hold your charger cables
  3. Stack those remotes
  4. Apple TV remote covers

1. Hide yo’ wires

I have a lot of wires under my living room couch, there’s a router, modem, Philips Hue bridge, WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra, laptop charger, an iPhone charger, a micro-USB charger. Obviously, these are a lot of wires and my (utterly shitty) robo-vacuum always got stuck, so I set out to solve for this. It was a largely simply solution, I got the following velcro cable sleeve/wrapper from Amazon. Here’s how the wires currently look under the couch with this sleeve:

2. Hold your charger cables

This second product was also prompted by the dumb Ecovacs robo-vac (I hate this product). Chargers in my house are like Starbucks in Manhattan, there’s one right around the corner. Clearly, I found the charging end on the floor to be an annoyance, so I bought these cable holders from Amazon and this is what the charger cables now look like:

3. Stack those remotes

Between the TV remote, Apple TV remote and some other remotes like the one for the Ecovac shit robo-vac, I needed a neat solution to have these close to the couch and bed:

4. Anti-slip Apple TV remote covers:

These little things seem very fragile and I often lose them around me or they slip and fall. I got these neat little Apple TV remote covers, one in black and one in fluorescent green:
