Enable The Posterous Bookmarklet In IE 8

March 31, 2009

I am a regular user of Posterous and ever since I’ve installed Windows 7, IE 8 has become my browser of choice. But there was one problem, IE 8’s default security settings do not allow the use of Posterous bookmarklet. This became an irritation for me. However, there is a quick & easy setting to be changed that will enable Posterous (& maybe disable something else :P)

To enable the Posterous bookmarklet:

  1. Open IE 8
  2. Press Alt, then ‘t’ & then ‘o’
  3. Select the ‘Security’ tab
  4. Choose ‘Custom’
  5. Scroll down to ‘Scripting’
  6. Disable the XSS filter
  7. Restart IE

Done. Now you should be able to use the Posterous bookmarkelt. :)
