Microsoft India Highlights Digital Divide In Urban & Rural India

February 11, 2011

While killing time at college, I came across a promotional video done for Microsoft India by Canadian company. The video highlights two Indias, the divide referred by several. The urban – rural divide that plagues India is a real problem. Education and job opportunities have kept inflating this divide and something needs to be done.

Here’s a video from Microsoft talking about this with real people (quite a bit in Hindi):

Food, healthcare, loans, finance and education are the five areas talked about by the individuals in the video. The second half of the video talks about how computer and Internet can benefit living conditions.

Bill Gates during his visit to India last year adopted a village to show how its done. Pretty good video.

PS: I haven’t seen this video before, there’s also an unseen IndiMIX promo video.
