Free E-Books From The Microsoft Press

Microsoft Press is the publication arm of Microsoft. The published books are technical, reference and training materials for enthusiasts, IT professionals & developers. Microsoft Press has apparently completed 25 years of existence in November I think and to celebrate the occasion they have now come up with a “Free E-Book of the Month” offer. As of now 2 books have been already put up for download, these are:

Introducing MS SQL Server 2008
(PDF 10 MB)

Learn about major new features in SQL Server 2008 including security, administration, and performance.

Win Server 2008 n/w & NAP
(PDF  38MB)

Get the official resource for deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Windows Server 2008 networking and Network Access Protection (NAP) technologies.

You will have to sign up to download them. You can also subscribe to them and have a mail sent to you whenever there is a new book released. To do this:

  1. Go here.
  2. From the left side table select “Microsoft Press Book Connection”.
  3. Press Subscribe.

While you are subscribing books, I might suggest you to subscribe MSDN & Technet Flash. Just so you know, Microsoft Press has is subscription based and publishes books catering to:

Home and office computer users: Books about Microsoft products for the home and office, including Microsoft Office and Windows.
